World Refugee Day is a day to raise awareness about the plight of refugees around the world and to gather support for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.It is celebrated around the world on June 20th each year. The Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees (MVRCR) will be holding an open house on Monday, June 20th, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Educate yourself by learning from refugees who have come to call our community home as we celebrate many cultures, one community. Get an inside look at the cultures in our area and take a tour of MVRCR to learn what we are all about! |
